After the first French trans-Atlantic crossing in 2000, Laurent Lajoye and Christophe Houver prepare to take up a new challenge!
In summer 2004, they will carry on eastwards !
This new challenge and adventure will honour the great Lorraine pionner in the conquest of air, Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier, at the time of the 250th anniversary of his birthday.
During this attempt, several world or national records will be challenged:
The world distance record for their balloon category (current record: 5340 km, established in 1992 by R.Abruzzo and T.Bradley in a 2200m3 rozière)
The world duration record held by Laurent Lajoye and Christophe Houver since their trans-Atlantic crossing in 2000 in 146 hours and 48 minutes.
The French altitude record with an objective between 6000 to 6500 meters.
